Undergraduate Research - BIOL 4990

 

This hand-on course provides ample research opportunities for undergraduate students interested in developing their research skills and broadening their academic knowledge. Highly motivated and responsible students, interested in developing a career in science will be given preference but we will give serious consideration to others that have a good academic record and want to have a research experience. Students can register for 1, 2, or a maximum of 3 credits, but we prefer 2 credits per semester, and they are expected to participate in the weekly lab meetings.

Students can participate in the following projects:

Climate change and the distribution of Puerto Rican butterflies

Patterns of host infection by mistletoes in northern Puerto Rico


Morphological variation and fluctuating asymmetry in Puerto Rican butterflies

Mapping landslides and vegetation types from remote sensed data
